Two ways to identify if darkness is overshadowing: 1) Sightlessness. You begin to internalize issues. Me. Me. Me. It becomes more about you then about God and others. It causes you to not see others. 2) Immobility. Darkness paralyzes you so that you don't rise up. You become stagnant and unproductive. Exodus 10:23 "They DID NOT SEE ONE ANOTHER, NOR DID ANYONE RISE from his place for three days, but all the people of Israel had light where they lived." The only thing that extinguishes darkness is light, the Word of God. The light shines in darkness and the darkness comprehends (overcomes) it not. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
